Birddog’s Man of Mystery MH   “Mojo”

FC AFC Glenhoma’s El Chupacabra X Birddog’s Sweet Remembrance

Mojo has one of the most unique, yet powerful pedigrees for a chocolate!

Mojo is available for stud services to approved females.
Located in Bemidji, Minnesota

Mojo is the result of literally years of research and planning! He has one of the most unique pedigrees of any chocolate out there today!!!  You simply will not find another like him! His bloodlines are loaded with some of the best field trial dogs in history, yet you will not find any of the common chocolate dogs that are consistently found in working bred Labradors. We have researched well past 10 generations and did not find a single chocolate dog on either side of his pedigree, yet can trace the hidden chocolate factor back through Field Trial Hall of Fame Retrievers: NAFC FC AFC Dude’s Double or Nothin’ and 1961 & 1963 NFC CNFC AFC Del-Tone Colvin.

Mojo is a handsome, muscular chocolate male that absolutely lives for the retrieve. He is a beast in the field and can easily be described as a machine. Mojo runs hard, marks well and simply doesn’t give up. He uses his nose and quarters naturally. In the fall Mojo is an active waterfowl and upland hunting dog. We train in the spring and summer and he just thrives with daily work. Mojo lives in the house and is just an easy boy to have around. As for his personality, he is a very happy. Mojo still acts like a puppy when he gets excited and the zoomies come out. Thankfully he knows to only do this outside! Mojo isn’t really a cuddler, but he enjoys sitting or laying at my feet and just getting petted.

HR Birddog’s Goodtime Magic Man “Houdini”(5 Master Passes, 4 HRCH passes)

~FC GRHRCH UH WBF’s Man On The Stand MH X  Birddog’s Goodtime Magnet MH25~

Once he is Master Hunter titled Houdini will be available for stud services.

Houdini is a very handsome, dark chocolate male out of our 4th and final litter between FC GRHRCH UH Maestro MH and Maggie MH25!

We always knew we wanted to keep a male from this incredible pairing, and we are so happy we kept Houdini. He is simply perfect! We consider Houdini to have the ultimate personality! Houdini is a working machine that has a huge heart! He gives 110% to everything he does and is a true team player. Once he is done with getting his titles, Houdini will be a hunting dogs and family companion.  When he comes home for breaks, Houdini is a pure joy to have around. He is just so easy. Houdini adapts quickly to any type of living situation. In training he lives in the kennel, but keeps it clean. When home he is a house dog. He has always had a strong, natural on/off to him. He doesn’t get into any mischief and he just likes to be with. Houdini gets along with everyone. Houdini loves all people without being pesty, pushy or clingy. He gets along with all dogs of various ages, including other intact males. If another dog tries to challenge him, Houdini just blows it off and moves away. There is not an aggressive or mean bone in his body. Houdini is confident and doesn’t allow other dogs to bully him. He just doesn’t let anything bother him and he will move on. Houdini absolutely loves puppies! He is so gentle with them and will lay down to play with them. Houdini will let puppies crawl all over him and he just wags his tail and gives them kisses. To top everything off, Houdini is absolutely gorgeous! He is muscular, athletic and has a beautiful soft double coat and blocky head.

Houdini is currently down in Texas training with Justin Drake. Houdini will be begin running UKC finished tests in February 2024. The hope is to get the Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) title on him before switching back to AKC hunt tests to get the last 2 passes need for his Master Hunter title. After that Houdini will come back home and be available for stud services.

SHR Birddog’s Just George JH

~2xNFC 2xCNFC FC Truline’s Just Floyd X Birddog’s Ebonstar Blast of Trinity SH “Kimber”

Currently down in Texas, training for higher level titles.

George is an absolutely striking, dark yellow male. George has always had a presence about him that catches your eyes. He is simply regal looking. Personality wise, George is a happy go lucky boy that absolutely loves to retrieve. When he is home, he is definitely a mom’s boy and enjoys participating in anything that is going on around the house.

I initially sent George to a field trial trainer and that ended up not be a good experience. Unfortunately the things that happened to George while he was with that trainer caused some issues that resulted in set backs with his performance career. George is now down in Texas training with Justin Drake. Justin has done and continues to do a wonderful job with getting George back on the right path. Even though random”skeletons” have popped up with George, we still have high hopes for this beautiful boy. After we are finished pursuing hunt test titles, George will come home and possibly be available for stud services.

Birddog’s The Duke

~Riparian Ghostrider QA2 X  Birddog’s Riparian Remington MH

Duke is now available for stud services to approved females.

Located Bemidji, MN

Duke is an absolutely gorgeous 85 pound fox red male! He is the sweetest boy and is as loyal as they come. Duke lives with my parents and literally goes everywhere with my dad. Duke will do absolutely anything for my dad. He retrieves multiple times a day and is his hunting dog in the fall. Duke has the ultimate type of temperament and gets along with everyone. He is very affectionate and goes out of his way to please.

Duke was the singleton puppy from the last Remi MH x Nick QA2 litter. It absolutely broke my heart to do it, but due to some unexpected circumstances I had to sell Duke as a puppy. Thankfully it is in my contract that I am to be given the first opportunity to buy-back any puppy that has been placed. Just after Duke turned a year old, his owner contacted me and informed me of how their life circumstances had changed and that they needed to move their dogs. Needless to say I jumped at the opportunity to get him back. My dad and I did a turn and burn trip down to Tennessee to get him. Once we got Duke back home, it was clear nothing had been done with him training wise and he was living in a cramped crate/kennel situation. Not in the house as it had been agreed upon. I knew Duke would never be sold again and I wanted to give him an opportunity to run hunt tests. So Duke went to our trainer in Texas. Once he was there it was pretty clear Duke did not do well in a large kennel environment. He just got so overwhelmed and sort of shut down. He enjoyed at learning obedience with one-on-one training, but just didn’t really care about birds at that time. He simply wasn’t ready. So my dad and I went down to get him and my dad mentioned that he would like to bring Duke to his home. The immediate bond between my dad and Duke was undeniable. They just chose each other and it was obvious to everyone that saw them. So Duke went to live with my parents. Once he was given the opportunity to be a loved family member in the house and allowed to just be a dog for a while, he blossomed. He is exactly what my retired parents wanted and he is adored in every way.

Duke has a service work/ therapy work type of temperament. He is extremely sweet and gentle with everyone he meets. He has a fantastic on/off switch and knows when it is time to be calm and when it is time to play or work. Duke also has a silly personality and makes everyone laugh multiple times a day!. Duke is extremely loyal and will do absolutely anything to please the main people in his life. He enjoys meeting new people and going to new places. He loves to retrieve and thoroughly enjoyed his first hunting season with my dad. Even with how much Duke loves retrieving and hunting now, he will not be sent back down for hunt test training. He is simply cherished as a family member now and his absence would be too much! He is a permanent addition to the BDL family! We are excited to see what he produces in the future with our own girls and we will offer him to approved females as well.
